I just received a call from someone saying he was from

i just received a call from someone saying he was from windows asking me to open my computer so he can fix problems. is this legit or a scam. I recently had Norton security go through my system and was told everything is fine
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your computer? What version of Windows are you running?
Customer: hp model 15-1205 dx and windows 8 I believe
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: 2 days ago my computer was updating and after a while I received notice on my screen that couldn't complete updates--then undoing updates
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: that should be it
