Please try the following
Press CTRL + ALT + DEL keys and then select task manager.
See if its open task manager window and let me know
Click on it and then end task it
OK do you have the desktop and icons now ?
Yes i am
OK click on show more details in task manager then in process tab,see if there is any explorer.exe running
let me know
OK click on file then new task (Run).
Now in the create new task window type explorer.exe and click on OK
see if that shows desktop and icons.let me know
On the top left of the task manger there is a file option
now do the rest and let me know
OK now we can try system restore to restore to a point before this problem started
To do system restore please do the following.
1. Press windows key and R key that will open run box
2. In the Run box type rstrui and press enter that will open system restore window, Click on next
3. In that windows it will show a restore date select that restore date were the PC was working fine. If the required restore date is not listed then select Choose a different restore point on the bottom of the system restore window. Now select the desired restore date.
4. Then click on next and continue with the system restore process
During the process the system will restart after that see if that problem got solved.
