Critical update of Windows 10 destroyed all my current file

Customer Question

Critical update of Windows 10 destroyed all my current file on my HP laptop bought in Jan. 1016 with windows 10 loaded. Backing up does not work either as each file is immediately destroyed. I had four sessions with MS Level 2 experts who have no idea but only look for money. Actually, they are not MS employees but some guys in India who are impossible to understand. Every few days MS "updates the file management" and the situation is getting worse, rather than better. What to do?

Usually files are left intact with a system restore. Not full restore, but to a previous date. Only the programs

you downloaded would be affected and have to be reinstalled if you restore back to a point you have not

downloaded the programs yet.

Have you tried a system restore to see if there is a point 'BEFORE' the critical update before you keep trying

to back up the copies and they are immediately destroyed?
