Well, my Desktop tells me that the most recent check for updates is \Never, and that the Updates Installed is also Never. I selected to update, and the computer runs for hours, and never finds anything. If I select View Update History, says, "You have not tried to install any updates for your computer. If I go to Uninstall an Update using Programs and Features, it shows I have 269 updates installed, but none from 2013 or 2015. However, it shows 124 Office updates from 2011 thru March 5, 2016. It seems that MS Updates are the ones that are missing. They seem to have stopped on 4/29/14. I tried stopping the MS Update Service and deleting the SoftwareDistribution folder, then restarted the Update Service. But the computer has been looking for updates for over 4 hours. Any ideas?
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: I am not intimidated by it. I have had this machine for around 5 years, and have been working with computers since the Apple II came out, before it had a case.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Note since the end of may, as I have been out of town, only controlling it remotely on occasion.
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
