averatec 6200 series trying to replace keyboard can't figure out how to get the start button,hindge cover off
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: not much had only hp and old compaq
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: no but the keyboard is broke
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: this is not the laptop I justneed to know how to replace the keyboard

I already looked at that website it shows the hinge and start panel snaping out we remove almost all the bottom screws and it still seems to hang up on the sides I do not think you should have t take apart the whole laptop to replace the keyboard on one that old

Once you remove the three top screws, it should lift right out? How far are you with the disassembly?

Cannot get the hindge cover stat button off to get at the screws to keyboard it hanks up on the sides and i do not see any screws that is holding it

They usually are held in place by tabs and just pop off.
