Hi Pearl, I am trying to network a XP computer & WindowsVista. The forums I read through lead to adding Link Layer Topology Discovery (LLTD) to the XP. However, I can not find a download for XP update, WindowsXP-KB922120-v5-ENU.exe.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: IBM Thinkpad Lenovo with Windows Vista and Toshiba Satelitte with WindowsXP
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No
JA: Anything else you want the computer expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: WindowsXP is using SP2. This computer is intentionally not upgraded to SP3 due to it's primary function is operating electronic equipment that does not operate with SP3.

go to start menu --> right click computer --> properties --> make sure both computers are on the same workgroup

Is the XP computer plugged into the router or a switch? They both need to be on the same network.
