JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No.

First off, please press and HOLD down the Power button on the laptop for atleast 60 seconds, and then release the button.

Did not work. You can see the lights trying to come on in the background but I can't get it to completely shut down. another approach?

as of now what is the status of the laptop..is it off or lights are flashing

keyboard lights are flashing as though its attempting to start up. Perhaps I should let the battery die out?

we have to perform a reset of the laptop

keep the ON button pressed for 10 secs

the laptop should shut down

then turn laptop upside down and remove the battery pack
