Customer Question

I updated Windows, as prompted to do so, then installed Google Chrome, something must have downloaded incompletely or incorrectly. When I try to use Chrome; or choose an embedded link to the internet in any application, I get the following error message window:
"The application has failed to start because its side by side configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event log or use the command-line sxstrace.exe tool for more detail."
What do I do now?

Hi there and welcome

Can you do the following please Jim

Go to start, control panel, programs, uninstall a program

Click on Google Chrome and click uninstall.

Once done, restart

Then open Internet Explorer and go to www.google.com/chrome

Install it from there and it should then function

I can also do these steps for you, and have made a request via Additional Services. This is optional, and if you choose to do this, I can, with your permission, remote into your computer while you watch and do all these steps (and deal with any problems that arise during them) for you. Or if you do not choose to take this service, we can continue here. This is no problem at all. Just let me know please.

Else let me know the results please
