I have my cd drive open but the wheel where I pit the cd is too large in diameter for the hole in the cd. it doesn't lay flat in the tray
JA: What kind of computer do you have?
Customer: dell inspiron 15 - 5000 series laptop
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?

Customer: I have had this laptop for a year, but due to medical reasons I am just now trying to learn how everything works

Are you saying that the CD that you want to put in the computer is too small for the CD slot?

no, the center hole of the cd is too small for the spindle in the cd tray. there is a black plastic circular piece in the tray which holds the cd up about 1/16".
