For Online Computer Support, Ask a Computer Technician
Hello and welcome. When did the problem start and what are you trying to do?Martin
Walk me through the process you go through and where you get stuck. You turn on the computer, a bunch of text comes on the screen and then you should see a logon screen (if you're using Windows).Usually at that point you select your username and type in a password ***** log in.How far into that do you get?
Are you contacting me from the computer in question or from another device?
Are you able to log into the other computer at all? You never told me whether it was the Windows logon screen you were stuck in or another screen
It shouldn't let you type the username, it should show you which usernames are ***** ***** let you click on the correct one.Do you see any email addresses listed?
What's the username you see written on the screen?
What version of Windows do you have?
If you cannot remember your password ***** will need to reset it using a boot disc
To create a boot disc you need to get HBCD
Click on the following link to get HBCD (Hiren's Boot CD):
Scroll down and click where it says Hirens.BootCD.15.2.zip to download the file.
You need to burn it on to a CD which will then allow you to use it as a boot disk.
Once you've made the CD, you need to boot from it and boot into the MiniXP environment.
From there you will have the option to do all sorts of things, one of them being a password ***** of any account on the system.
Here's a video showing you how to reset the Windows password:
Once the password ***** been reset, you simply restart, remove the CD, and login with the newly created password.
If you remember your password ***** should let you log in
If it says it's wrong then you may think you know the password
