Hello and welcome.

What do you see on the screen?

Try pressing the power button for 10 whole seconds and let go and close the lid.

Open the lid then power it back on.

Tell me what happens.

Try another power point and see if the charging light comes on.

The reason it's gone to sleep is it's low on battery, if it's not charging you may have a bad charger

On the bottom of the laptop there is a small hole (reset button) which you need to press with a paperclip for 15 seconds with the charger unplugged.

Give that a go as well.

If that doesn't solve it, try another charger.

That will tell you where the underlying problem is.
