Customer Question

I recently updated to Windows 10 (which worked fine) and approximately two days later while playing a game, my computer crashed for no apparent reason. When I turned my computer back on everything but the initial boot up screen was covered in horizontal static lines. Everything works fine except for the RESTART option which turns off, but fails to turn back on, it then only beeps and I am forced to turn it off. I've tried redoing all of my cords etc. and it doesn't help. I don't know what to do.

Hello and thank you for your question. I look forward to assisting you today. You can try a system restore to an earlier date to see if that will bring it back?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
The earlier problem still remains.

Any chance you would have a different monitor you could try?

Expert:  Dan replied 1 year ago.

Also, would it be possible for you to open the computer case and take a picture of the motherboard?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I retested the monitor and it works fine.
Customer: replied 1 year ago.
I won't be able to open it all up until tomorrow

Okay good. I want to eliminate the possibility of any monitor problems before we proceed. Some of the Dell computers in your age bracket, have motherboards that failed around the same time frame. What I am looking for are bad capacitors on the board. Send me a photo when you can and we will go from there.
