Hi my name is ***** ***** I will be the expert working with you today to help and resolve the problem you have posted.

Red light means not connected properly cable fault or the usb driver is missing to detect the drive.

try to connect to another usb ports on the computer and still if its the same try to change the usb cable.

Let me know how it goes. I hope you are not getting clicking noise from the hard disk.

I am having trouble with your website. The SimpleTech harddrive is very old. The red light actually means that the power is on. the issue is that there is no sound. the driver doesnt seem to boot up even if the power is on.

have you tried to connect the drive to a different usb port?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
i dont think its the port, the external harddrive will not boot up
Expert:  Michelle replied 1 year ago.

if its not the port then try to browse the hard driver and check for the boot files and try to create the hdd as a bootable in that case.

Let me know what bootable you want to make.
