Customer Question

Yesterday morning after booting up, I got a nag screen that my Windows 7 O/S might be counterfeit. My desktop wallpaper also disappeared, and when I install another one and go do another chore, when I come back to the desktop it is gone again. I keep getting nags about my O/S not being genuine. I have used this same computer for several years and never had an issue. Can this have been caused by an update? When I go into the Control Panel to check on updates it says my computer is up to date. What causes this?

I will be the person helping you today. I can see that you may need a little bit of extra help. This problem can be caused by many different things. Your operating system may be faulted, have corrupt files, or you may be infected with some sort of virus/spyware application. May I start a secure remote assistance session on your computer and help you resolve the problem? Once the remote session begins, we will be able to communicate via a chat window on your computer.

Thank you,
