Customer Question

I have a Motorola SB6120 that locks up daily. I want to get into its internal software to check out the Signal levels and noise. I type to get to the setup and A PASSWORD ***** pops up from the SAME ADDRESS. The Motorola(arris) tech support says that there is NO Modem Password. I don't know any other way way to check or modify the modem setup short of doing a FACTORY RESET. I'm worry about doing a reset without a backup. (it could get worse)
NOTE: I just installed an amp that may have fixed my modem crashes, but I still want to fix the PW block and get into the modem settings. ANY IDEAS?????

Try admin/motorola for username/password

i go the modem from the installer. contacted him and he didn;t set up a pw either

any other ideas. like an insider pw cracking secret method?

Sorry. admin/motorola is the factory default and there's no secret/backdoor. There is only one thing on the modem that can be changed and that's

the username/password.

The only thing a reset would change is to set the password ***** to factory default.

Is the modem under warranty?

I hoped that I could learn something that I didn't know.
If my modem still crashes I assume that I can only get the Signal Strength and S/N values via the built in software. I can only do that after a modem reset restores the default password.

Yes. They'll be similar to this (see attachment)

That modem's not branded with an ISP name is it?
