Customer Question

Hello! My Asus computer crashed so I had the data moved to an external drive. The "geek squad" at Best Buy informed me that I would have to have Asus send me the recovery discs. Is it possible to request this through this forum?

Thank you. I didn't need help finding a place to shop for the discs and my original question was can I order it through you. I will wait for your refund before I rate our interaction.

Hi there, My name is Gary. I have a possible solution to getting your recovery discs. If your original hard drive on your computer still functions at a basic level, you may be able to restore windows to it and / or create your own recovery discs. I am going to attach a link with instructions (from the owners manual) on how to do this. It may not work if the hard drive is too far gone, or if it has been reformatted. The only way to check this out is to press F9 as soon as you power it on and see if the recovery partition is still there and still functioning.

It starts on this page:

and it continues on the next pages which you can click through. On this page,

the instructions for creating your own recovery discs begin.

I understand this may not work for you, but give it a try! You really don't have anything to lose since you have already recovered your data. If it does, you don't have to order anything. I just wanted to give you this information in case it could help you out.

Good Luck.
