I run Windows 10. I cannot sign into my Microsoft account

Customer Question

I run Windows 10. I cannot sign into my Microsoft account because there is a typo in the registered account, and I don't know how to get past this. I want to set EDGE as my browser and Microsoft for my security.

I'm sorry about the issue. Please try the following fix:

- You can reset your Microsoft account password ***** that (wrong) email address at the website below:

, and check.

- And/or you can create a new Microsoft account at the website below:

- If that does not work, or you can just reset the Windows 10 computer by doing the following on the Windows 10 computer:

  1. At the password ***** login screen, press and keep holding the Shift key on the keyboard.
  2. Click on the Power icon, then click on the option Restart while still holding the Shift key.
  3. When a menu appears, then you can release the Shift key.
  4. When prompted, click on the Troubleshoot option.
  5. Then select the option Reset your PC, and continue.
When prompted, select the option "Remove everything" and "Just remove files", and continue.

Do you see any menu / Troubleshooting option when trying the above steps?

- (Or click on Start->Settings->Update & security->Recovery, and Reset PC there.)

Please reply at the box below to continue troubleshooting. Thank you.
