I can't "Upgrade" or "Update" my windows 7 home edition,

Customer Question

I can't "Upgrade" or "Update" my windows 7 home edition, which came with my computer. To be honest I think perhaps I deleted something by accident. I have tried everything I can think of but no luck. Is it possible that I didn't get a disc when I bought the computer? I can't find one... so I can't reload the program.

Hi, thank you for contacting My name is Russell. I will do my best to provide the right answer to your question.

What program is missing?

What error message do you get that indicates it is missing, and at what time or when running or trying to run what program, please?

Do you mean that you cannot run Windows Update ?

Customer: replied 1 year ago.
right .... windows update does not run
Expert:  Russell H. replied 1 year ago.

OK. When did Windows Update last work?

And, what error indication or error message and code, do you get when it fails, exactly?

Also: do you run it in your Internet Explorer browser, or as a program 'Windows Update'? if not tried in the I.E. program try it there, please. It can be found in

Tools - Windows Update

or in

Security - Windows Update

in your IE program's menus.
