I am the person that will be helping you today.

May I ask what you are referring to when you use the word "signal"? I assume you are referring to the video source. The way to fix the video problem is found below.

- Boot into safe mode.

- Hold down the Windows key and the letter R at the same time.

- In the window that comes up, type: desk.cpL

- Click Ok

- Click the settings tab, if you see one. If you don't see one, skip to the step below.

- Change the resolution to a lower resolution and click Ok and choose to Accept the changes.

After that is complete, reboot the computer normally and all should be good. If you still have problems, repeat the instructions above and choose a lower resolution.

I look forward to hearing your feedback concerning whether or not your problem is fixed.

I hope to hear back that all is working. If this is so, please do not forget to rate my help on the top of this page (choose the number of stars and click the Submit button). If it is not, please respond below.

I will be standing by,

Thanks for your help but it did not work.
The computer screen does not recognises the signal once the computer boots up and a blue screen comes on my screen saying : no signal and the screen turns black.I can hear the microsoft welcome but not see it.
I lowered the resolution to the bottom but it still does not work.
I bought a new HP Windows 10 and the one that quit is a Vista.
I was going to use both with a KVM switch.
I probably keep the Vista in safe methode until I transfered everything I want unless you have a solution.
