I'm on my laptop because I can't get on the internet through my desktop. I keep getting "Internet Explorer has stopped working". I also get a "Create file mapping failed: (6), WC_REGISTRY_MMAP_NAME" What's going on?

For xp run system restore and see if that fixes or we have other options to go with to fix the problem.
click Start click all programs select accessories click system tools and then system restore, use the option restore my computer to an earlier time and you need to clik on the date which is bold in color select a back date when it was assumed working fine then hit next to proceed. Wait till it restart and completes the system restore.

Turn the computer off and wait for 2 mins now turn on as it turn on and you see display on the screen immediately press the F8 for few times it will open windows advance menu use the arrow key to select safe mode with networking and hit enter. Once you are in windows let me know.
