Yes, this is a live chat
Sorry I don't take phone calls, I can opt out so you can wait for someone who does if you like?I do remote support sessions which isn't necessary in this case - or live chat.Could you explain your problem in a little more detail?
It's okay, I understand anyway.Did you install grub to the MBR or to a partition?
What else do you have installed, Windows 10 parallel?
And what's GRUB saying?
Ahh I see what you mean.. yeah a phone call might be your best option, or to connect to this chat with your phone. What I'd do is see what GRUB is saying and write down the exact error, it's probably trying to boot linux from the wrong partition. Also, go into your BIOS and see if you can set it to legacy mode first
Load up the browser and go to www.justanswer.com then login, you should have login credentials sent to your email when you asked your question
As an isolation test, you could disconnect the 128GB SSD with Windows 10 on it and try to load Linux first as it is, if it doesn't work, reinstall it to the whole disk on the other drive and see if GRUB will load it at all.
It's an additional service request, your request is sent out to all experts
If anyone decides to take it you'll be asked to enter your phone number
But there are limited amount of people who do Linux
Did you get my previous suggestions?
Also it would be good to know what GRUB says when you boot up
Depending on the laptop it shouldn't be too much hassle, you mentioned it has a 970m GTX so it should have easy access - you don't need to remain in Windows
Few reasons but usually because I need to multitask with a couple of questions at a time and I wouldn't be able to concentrate properly on the call so I rather type and give a concrete answer
Yes, it's all logged server side, you can resume the conversation any time you like
