Let me check (it is elsewhere) but similar or same as
Acer Aspire E15 (ES1-511-C59V) 15-inch Laptop ; it was dropped screen is clearly effed, just bright web like lines and bleedings of datk

i have a cheap compaq monitor that works with an acer aspire on netbook simply by plug in, it is the old multipin plug, not sure that works on laptop

The Acer should have a standard VGA port you can connect an external monitor to. It should detect it as soon as you plug it in, but you might want to have both powered off first. Power on the monitor, then the laptop.
