Is the power light blinking or the monitor going off/on?If this is a laptop, unplug the power cable and take the battery out for about 30 seconds. Plug everything back in and power it on.
No shouldn't need to take apart, do you know the model of it?
Looks like that model has battery inside so you can't remove it. Just blinking between like black and white?
I'm here, you could remove it however think of it like an iphone where you have to take everything apart. I think you would be better letting the battery go all the way dead and then plugging the power cable in.
However if it's booted up and you can navigate through it, this may be a hardware issue with the monitor itself.

I don't know how many characters, should be on a sticker on bottom of laptop somewhere tho.

That won't work, we would need an external monitor. Or like a hdmi cable to plug into a tv to use as a monitor.
You can see the screen now? Are you able to get out to Internet? If so we can do a remote session to determine if it's a software/hardware issue.
Yeah that's what I was referring to. This maybe an issue where you need someone to look at it in person, and have them repair the screen if it is hardware issue.
