I have an Acer C720 which powers on but after I enter my screen saver password ***** shuts off. What could possibly be wrong?

It keeps saying Chrome is missing or broken. Everything relies on chrome.

I apologize. Just frazzled! Just reset it to factory settings but after I set it back up and log in I try to open Internet or app, doc etc and it kicks back out telling me to enter my Google password

shut down the computer wait for 30 seconds.

Power it back on and immediately keep tapping the F8 key.

select safe mode with networking and hit enter use the arrow key on the keyboard to select safe mode networking.

Finally tried it said file download only for pc not compatible with chrome os

It powers on type in password ***** beginning. It immediately opens up Internet if WiFi detected, says chrome did not shut down correctly (probably my husband's doing). Then only gives you about 10 secs at the most before it bumps back out to the log in password *****

When you see that screen push and release the power button immediately chromebook will shut down wait for 3 mins and then power it back on.

  1. Sign out of your Chromebook.
  2. Press and hold Ctrl+Alt+Shift+R.
  3. Click Restart to restart your Chromebook.
  4. In the box that opens, click Reset and sign in with your Google Account.
    Note: The account you sign in with after you reset your Chromebook will be the owner account.
  5. Follow the instructions in the box.
