Customer Question

I'm not able to save a Windows Word 10 document. I get the error message, "You don't have permission to save in this location. Contact the administrator for permission."
This problem began after my recent upgrade from Win.7 to Win.10.
I also can't bring up my Documents folder. It goes to Pictures when I select My Docs.
Thank you:)

Hi there and welcome

I would like you to do the follow as the first step please

Close all programs

Press the windows key + X and click on Command Prompt (Admin)

Then type in

sfc /scannow

Press enter

Let this complete and when it has, type in

chkdsk /r

Press enter.

It will give a message "the type of the file system is NTFS cannot lock current drive.

chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts y/n" Say Y, press enter and restart the computer.
