Customer Question

I have an ASUS Model U50F laptop w/ an Aptio Setup utility - 2008 AMI BIOS, modified by ASUS presumably. Can't seem to get a formatted drive to load a clean Windows 10 from a USB port. I've tried to best of my ability, after considerable online investigation, to add a USB port to Boot Priorities. Nothing I"ve done works. Please advise.

try this. the secure boot has to be off if that is an option but that bios is old it may just not do usb boots they werent very common in 2008

1. Enter the BIOS setup menu by pressing and holding F2 key when powering on.
2. Switch to “Boot” and set “Launch CSM” to Enabled.
3. Switch to “Security” and set “Secure Boot Control” to Disabled.
4. Press F10 to save and exit.
5. Press and hold ESC key to launch boot menu when the Unit restarts.

the newest bios i can find for it is 2010 which i still wouldnt bet on

and i would be surprised if that computer would run windows 10 anyway. It doesnt even have drivers for windows 8

you can run the compatibility advisor from this site. its the same one they use for windows 8.1
