I am using an At&T 2-line answering device. For several years it worked perfectly, but now one line cannot send or receive. I replaced it with a brand new model , but I have the same problem.

Can you tell me a bit more about the problem please:
1) If you have multiple handsets (within the same system), does this happen with all of them?
2) Are there other phones or even a fax, outside of this system but on the same line? If so are they working properly?
3) Is this a landline from the local phone/cable company, or a VOIP service (vonage/magicjack/etc)?
4) Do you have dsl service on the same line?
5) Full model of the phone(s) (printed on sticker on the base usually)

1. I don't use the handset.
2. There are two other phones on this particular phone line (***-***-****), and they are working properly.
3. This is a land line from COMCAST. I have already called them, and they assert that the problem is not with their service.
4. I don't know what "dsl" means.
5. I cannot find phone "model" numbers on the phones.

If you look near the display screen on the ATT unit, or on a sticker on the underside, it should be listed there. I don't quite understand what you mean by "send or receive". Do you mean it doesn't pick up when someone calls, so they can't leave a message? Is line 2 working?

My 2 line AT7T answering machine is model # ***** 76108.
My line 2 does not pick up when someone calls, so they cannot leave a message. Line 2 is not working. I cannot call out on it.

Thank you for confirming. Are you able to call out or receive calls on line 2 with any other phone?If you are using any kind of a splitter/extension, please try going direct to a line 2 wall jack, for testing purposes.
