We have three domains with three different Google analytic code snippets.Can I track all three separate domains from one Google account?

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

hello sir/madam,

Customer:

hello

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

yes, you can use only one Google analytics account for your three domains

Customer:

how?

Customer:

I mean, one account is allotted to one domain. Right?

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

what you need to do is, to create one code , and then put all of them into all of your domains

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

and then use the FILTER mechanism in Google analytics

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

it looks like this:

Customer:

I have three UA IDs from each domain,like UA-1234568-3, UA-1234568-5,UA-1234538-1. Can I track all like that?

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

keep only one , (you don't need other two ids)

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

and put only the one you selected, into all of your websites.

Customer:

I already have three IDs(code snippet) from each domain. Each domain has its own Google analytic account. Can I keep all three IDs in one Google analytic account?

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

i just checked it, it is not possible to merge existing seperate Google analytics data into one account

Customer:

ok.Lets do my your way. How you reached to this page "Edit custom report"?

Customer:

Can I do that:

Customer:

_gaq.push(['account2._setAccount', 'UA-1234568-5']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'wiki.servicenow.com']);
_gaq.push(['account2._trackPageview']);
_gaq.push(['account3._setAccount', 'UA-29210397-1']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'community.servicenow.com/']);
_gaq.push(['account3._trackPageview']);

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

To create a filter at the account level:
1.Click Admin at the top of any Analytics page.
2.Use the menu in the Account column to select the relevant account.
3.In the Account column, click All Filters.
4.Click + New Filter.
5.Enter a name for the filter.
6.Select Predefined filter to select from the predefined filter types.
If you select this option, also enter your domain name (e.g., example.com (omitting www), and select whether the domain name is XXXXX XXXXX
7.Select Custom filter to construct a custom filter from the options we provide. If you create a custom filter, consult our definitions of the filter fields.
8.From the Available views list, select the views to which you want to apply the filter, then click Add.
9.Click Save.

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

you have three different domains? or, you have three different subdomains?
in other words, you have three different subdomains like a.domain.com, b.domain.com, c.domain.com etc?

Customer:

I have three different domain

Customer:

What do you think it will work?

_gaq.push(['account2._setAccount', 'UA-1234568-5']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'wiki.servicenow.com']);
_gaq.push(['account2._trackPageview']);
_gaq.push(['account3._setAccount', 'UA-29210397-1']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'community.servicenow.com/']);
_gaq.push(['account3._trackPageview']);

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

i am checking it now

Customer:

ok

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

i am checking, if same command can be used more than one time in one push

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

(_setDomainName')

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

Google shows that, you can do it, but you need to use the code seperately, like this:

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

_gaq.push(['account2._setAccount', 'UA-1234568-5']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'wiki.servicenow.com']);
_gaq.push(['account2._trackPageview']);

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

_gaq.push(['account3._setAccount', 'UA-29210397-1']);
_gaq.push(['_setDomainName', 'community.servicenow.com/']);
_gaq.push(['account3._trackPageview']);

Customer:

How you check that

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

but technically, your way should work too, because there is no need if you already included the <script type="text/javascript"> sections

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

(there is no need to type them again)

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

so your way should work.

Customer:

ok.I will go with it. hope it will work

Customer:

I don't need to type what code?

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

if that does not work, please let me know, we can find alrernative solution

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

you can only type this one time:

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

<script type="text/javascript">

Customer:

ok

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

and when you are done, you can close it </script>

Customer:

I need to give this code to programmer. I don't know how much they will take time. How can I contact you again, in case

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

yes, i will be here anytime

Customer:

ok, thanks

XXXXX XXXXXnell :

you are welcome
