This answer was rated:

I'm want to use camstudio on my computer. But I get this message when I try to launch it. "the program can't start because mfc100.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem". But that didn't work.
Can you help.
Hi, thank you for asking your question today.

I suggest you download/install the Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package.

Once uninstalled, please run Start > All Programs > Windows Update to ensure your computer is up to date. Afterwards, please attempt the installation of CamStudio.

I hope this helps. Please reply back if you have additional questions or concerns. If you have no additional questions please remember to RATE/ACCEPT my service before exiting the site so I can be credited for my time.

Toby, just restarted my computer. Will attempt to download camstudio.

Still can't run camstudio after updates. I'm done with Camstudio. I don't want to pursue it further.

Are you receiving the same error? If so, try downloading/installing the 64bit version of the link I provided earlier:

64bit Link

Once installed, perform the following steps:

  1. 1. Open an elevated command prompt. To do this, click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator.

  2. 2. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:

  3. sfc /scannow

  4. The sfc /scannow command scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with correct Microsoft versions.

Now, see if you are able to install CamStudio after those steps. Let me know how it goes. Thanks!

Toby, I am a caregiver. My charge needs attention. But I will follow your last instructions first. If it doesn't work, I don't want to pursue this any further, Okay? Thanks.

Still didn't work. I have no more time for this.

Your service is great though. Now what

I will send this to customer service and have them issue a refund. If you do have time, try installing this package:

From what I've seen, the latest version of CamStudio is causing this error. The previous packages should have installed that dll though.

Toby, you've been great. If I had more time I'd continue to work through this with you. No need for a refund. Really.
