Runing a PC off server with 2008 Small Business software. The PC has lost it's network connection, therefore unable to send and receive e-mails. Outhwiae the internet works fine. Is the PC unable to log onto the domain, is it a member of a domain?

There are two other PC's connected to the server, all working fine no problem with outlook. The only change that was made on the server recently was to renew the certificate to allow remote access from PC 20 miles away, that all works fine.

 

Simply, when we try to go on Outlook on this PC, it loads to the opening page but then we have small red cross on the bottom right hand icon of Microsoft outlook. Message

comes up to say that Outlook in not connected to the network. Does this help.

Thank You for that info. I know this is super obvious and you probably checked it but just in case it was overlooked please make sure outlook is not set to work offline.

Click on the X in out look and make sure work offline is not checked.

In outlook 2010 On the ribbon, go to the Send/Receive tab - the Work Offline button will show as activated. Click the Work Offline button to de-activate it.

If you are not working offline please let me know if this machine is able to log onto the domain.

Thank you for that , under the send/receive box cannot find the Work offline ref. Would it be quicker if you were to connect live?

Sorry for the delay there seems to be some issues today with teh just answer website.

Unfortunately I do not have the ability to connect remotely.

Just click file and see if work offline is checked.

Which version of outlook is it 2003, 2007, 2010?

Was it set to work offline? If so uncheck and then close outlook and restart it.

Microsoft Small Business Server 2008 is not outlook. Outlook is the email program. If you do not know click help and choose about outlook.
