Hello,

These drives should not pop up this error. Is this a new flash drive that you have yet to use?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Yes. However it is the second new drive I have tried (one TDK, one SANDISK) both times windows did not load the driver
Expert:  technicalcat replied 5 years ago.
There is likely a problem with windows/computer you are plugging these drives into. Click on start, then click control panel, then click system (computer icon), then click "device manager". Tell me if you see any exclamation points in the list you see there, while your tdk device is plugged in. Unplug and plug in the device , and tell me what , if anything, changes in that list.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
on 'other devices' TDK device listed with yellow exclamation mark. Nothing changes.
Expert:  technicalcat replied 5 years ago.
Right click on that tdk device, then left click on properties. Click on the DRIVER tab, and you should see an uninstall button. Click it , and if you have the option to also remove/delete the driver from system, check it as well. When done with that, unplug your tdk device, and restart your computer. When it comes back up , plug back in the device. This may well fix your problems. If not, you can follow up with me.

Still U/S. Now tried a third device and reloaded all my Windows 7 drivers. No new USB flash dives can install drivers. Windows cannot find them. I have already used flash drives of the same types and they run!
Expert:  technicalcat replied 5 years ago.
Tell me about this system. What's the make and model? Did you purchase it new? Has it ever been reformatted or windows reinstalled?
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Acer Aspire 5741A bought new, pre-installed Windows7 Home Premium. Not re-installed. Don't want to lose a lot of downloaded programs!

Can you suggest a fix?
Expert:  IT_Help replied 5 years ago.
Yes sir I think so.
Expert:  IT_Help replied 5 years ago.
When you plug it do you hear any sound.
Customer: replied 5 years ago.
Are you familiar with the problem so far? Every new USB flash device cannot load drivers- Windows does not 'see' the drivers. These drives are not faulty. Microsoft and Acer sites unhelpful
Expert:  IT_Help replied 5 years ago.
I know sir. If you give me the answer then I can help you.
