Hello

Aaron B :

An options menu never opened ie. with choices such as hard drive recovery or recovery from CD? How far a long until it says to please wait a moment? I assume you never get to a menu where you can start a factory recovery?

Aaron B :

Please try to boot your computer into Windows safe mode. Keep tapping your F8 key as soon as you power on your computer. In an advanced boot options menu, choose "Safe mode".

Aaron B :

Once in safe mode try to burn Acer recovery discs. How to Make Recovery Media:

Click on "Start", then "All Programs", then choose "Acer Empowering Technology". Click on "Acer eRecovery Management". If prompted to create a password, create a password and hint.

Do not lose this password. If asked for a password, enter a previously set password. When an Acer eRecovery Management loads, click a button labeled "Burn Disc".

Click "Create Factory default disc". Follow those instructions and put in a required Blank DVD or Blank CD media to make a set of Recovery Media Discs.

ok did the safe mode and telling me to please wait. aand than it shuts down and restarts to repair computer or starts windows normally and than the screen goes blank

Aaron B :

ok

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

hi

Aaron B :

This time can you try booting into Windows safe mode "Last known good configuration". If last known good configuration doesn't boot it into windows properly, then try booting into Windows "Safe mode with command prompt". In a command prompt type "chkdsk /f /r" without quotes.

Aaron B :

Type Y when it prompts with a message stating volume is in use. It should say a chkdsk scan is scheduled at next reboot. Reboot your computer and chkdsk scan should begin.

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

ok doing safe mode with command prompt

Aaron B :

ok

Aaron B :

Please try last known good configuration if you get a chance as that might fix Windows enough.

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

i have tried that before

Aaron B :

ok thanks

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

it restarted and comes back to launch start up repair didnt give me option to type scandisk

Aaron B :

Are you pressing F8 as soon as that computer powers up?

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

yes

Aaron B :

ok

Aaron B :

Is there a recovery option in that menu that prompts you do to a repair?

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

Aaron B :

Do you have a Windows install disc?

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

no got no disks with it

Aaron B :

ok

Aaron B :

Try all safe mode options if you haven't done so already.

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

Aaron B :

Erecovery should work unless your hard drive is failing or it is corrupt.

JACUSTOMER-9wl8b0ec- :

it wont load up

Aaron B :

You might be able to order recovery discs from Acer.

Aaron B :
