Yes, When I had to replace the power supply I accidently restored me comuter to the original start up when I purchased it several years ago.

OK; please go ahead and download the Windows Installer 4.5 from the following web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?displaylang=en&id=8483

You'll want to click "DOWNLOAD" next to WindowsXP-KB942288-v3-x86.exe (the last file in the list) and then run that installer and restart your PC and try again; thanks!

I am still getting the same error message when installing Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010. Is there another solution?

Error 1304, error writing to file. Policy 12.0 Microsoft.Office.Interop.Access.dll . Verify that you have access to that directory.

Please run the cleanup utility for Office 2003 by clicking the following link... save the program and run it: http://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9730793

Then restart and attempt to install Office again; thank you.

You need to look down on the bottom... it's a file download.

I clicked on the link you gave me and I get the security message that the page is blocked by microsoft to protect my computer, click here. I click and get the drop down to allow the files to download and I get a blank page.

Right-click on the link and select save link as or save target as. That's odd that Microsoft is blocking a download from its own web site.

Hi - I did some more digging around...

Some people have reported success by creating a new user account with administrative rights on their PC and installing it from there. Are you familiar with how to create a new user account?

Please follow these steps:

http://uis.georgetown.edu/software/documentation/winxp/winxp.creating.accounts.html

Don't worry about the 'novell user name' part ... Just type any username, then make it a computer admin then click Create account.

Then go to Start menu --> Log off and log on to that second account

Then try to install Office from there (it will install for all users)

I created new user account and tried to install from that account. I got the same error message.
