I did run a registry check this morning with Uniblue - no change.
please disable mcafee
once done check google chrome
ok..last mcafee update/scan were on 7/29.
please disable mcafee and then check if google chrome opens up any website or gives the same error
real time scanning off.....firewall off...now google works fine
interesting, because IE did not have these connection errors.

you need to open mcafee Click On Firewall ---> Settings ----> Click on Program Permissions ----> Select Google Chrome and set it to full access in case you are unable to find the setting
