Hello and welcome to Just Answer!

You need to follow the steps given below to restore your computer to factory defaults:

1. Remove all external peripheral devices, including USB-connected devices.

2.Turn on the computer. If the computer is already on, reboot it.

3. Press and hold the "Ctrl" and "F11" keys simultaneously as soon as you restart/start the computer. The "Dell PC Restore by Symantec" window will appear. Click "Restore."

4. Click "Confirm" at the warning message stating that all data will be lost. A "Progress" window will appear. Once the installation process has finished the message, "The system recovery process was successful" will appear.

5. Click "Finish."

this is how you can restore your inspiron to factory defaults. if you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask.
