do you know of any files on this partition?
and you want the files or you just want the partition back?
i want the files
and the partition back
did you try to connect the disk to any other computer?
please connect it with any other computer and tell me if you can view the files or not
otherwise we will have to use a third party software to recover the files
for this, go to http://www.recovermyfiles.com/ and download the software
it will recover all the files. try the demo first to see if it has detected any files
still, it says "This folder is empty"
on the other computer ?
now try the software please
try the demo first
i'll re-plug the hard disk to this computer?
plug it on the system where you run the software
ok, the software is being downloaded now
software installed and now opened
what should i do next?
run it so that it recovers the data
do you see any files that have been found on the drive?
they're all just folders. can't see any file
looks like, yes
then you do not have files on this partition otherwise this software detects those files as well which have been deleted
but how come i see 48 GB of files in Computer window?
also, i did not delete any files in this partition
i cannot say anything about it
i will opt out here and will leave the question open for any other expert to answer
thank you for your patience

there's a lot and it's still scrolling
The link went to the installation of Registry Bosster software. After installing and running the Registry Booster software, the scan registered more than 380 errors detected. However, while the software fixed 15 errors for free, I have to pay for all the other errors to be fixed. And I am not really sure if this will really fix my external hard disk problem. Is there any other fix where I won't have to pay again?
Followed the applicable instructions but nothing happened. The hard disk drive F still shows "This folder is empty".
I'd done the steps you listed but still, the folders did not show up. Also, everytime I type the ATTRIB step and then enter, "Not resetting system file - F:[Folder name]" message appears.
By the way, in the Recover My Files software (the one recommended earlier by another expert) that I'm running, the files I'm looking for appear to be categorized under the Lost Files Results. The software is still scanning 63 million blocks of my F drive.
Yes!!! Thanks a lot. Is there a way to permanently display the folders every time I open the drive. It seems to be that I need to do this step whenever I open the drive.
How can I create the shortcut?
