I have made restore using different dates but always get an answer that "unspecified error" occurred. How can I overcome?

1. Click Start button.
2. Right-click Computer.
3.Click Manage.
4.Click Continue if it asks to do so.
5.Click Device Manager on the left hand side.f
6. Now, on the right hand side, click + sign in front of Sound, video and game controller.
7. Please right click on the items under it one by one and click Uninstall.
8.Please restart your computer.

I have unistalled the sound device. During restore request issued to complete device installation. After an affirmative answer the same unidentified error is indicated.
