after that download the chipset driver from below and reinstall and restart the netbook

Sibu :

if the problem persists then we should go for factory restore

Sibu :

to do factory restore you have to follow below steps

Sibu :

  • Start your netbook and tap the F9 key on your keyboard until you see a loading screen.

  • The restore program prepares the files needed for the operation.

  • A message appears asking if you want to perform the operation, you will lose all files on your computer.

  • Confirm by clicking .

  • This will restore your netbook to factory settings and without any action on your part. Finally we should rather say the Ghost.

  • At the end of the operation, the netbook will reboot on its own, and finish these configurations.

  • A reboot is performed again, and you’re on the setup process of Windows as the first boot after buying the netbook.

asacpisvr.exe is required by third-party software and hardware and should NOT be disabled.
All you needed was the updated acpi driver, the symptom is gone, but the problem will remain, unless all you wanted was for the message to be gone and not the actual problem, thank god you didn't reformat as suggested...

If you will face some problem with keyboard ,hot keys ,touch pad or some other hardware then you should try this

re-enable the startup item in msconfig as I have said above

and then goto below link and downlaod the acpi driver from external mirror and install it

That's an old version....
You really need the latest it's named ACPI-V6_1_1_1027.zip
You can get it on the actual asus site, never use third party sites, always go to the mfg, I'll let Sibu find it for you since he's already been paid....

i used the one the gentlemen before suggested and the error repeated. so i unchecked it again and am now rebooting. i will try with your zip. note, my mouse would not work.

if i install and keep the box checked the error message persists - and i have updated the acpi driver. so now what?

no i am not facing any issues if left unchecked - right now. i dont use any other pipherals with this netbook.
I mean the onboard touchpad and keyboard ?

Ok, I know you already paid the other expert, and the problem is not actually solved, and I'm actually getting absolutely nothing out of this, but just go here and make sure you have all the latest drivers for yourself:
