Are you referring to the blue shortcut arrow (with a white background) mark in the desktop icons?

No It is a green box on lower left corner of icon on desktop with a check mark inside the green box, some boxes are blue with lesser signs

Okay. First off, please double-click on and open the Norton main window, then go into Settings and on the right side, uncheck "Backup Status Overlays".
