Norton, no. I don't know what AVG is. I only use this laptop when I travel, and just for word processing, email and Power Point.

Okay ..now, in Outlook, please go to Tools > Account, select your email account, and click Properties. In the window that comes up, click on the Advanced tab, then make a note of the outgoing server info configured for Outlook, and let me know so that I can follow up further.

that's where the problem is; I have "account settings" not account and there is no properties tab.
