vista and janome do not get along. USB driver wil not work.

I have re-installed JSMC850 driver...
vista and janome do not get along. USB driver wil not work. I have re-installed JSMC850 driver and nothing helps. What to do? Janome Digitizer Program works great, so does my 10,000+ machine. They just won't converse with each other?

When you plug the machine in do you hear a ding dong sound or a stuttering ding?

Please help me check if you have a problem with the USB driver

 

  • Click on Start and then Control Panel.

  • Click on the System and Maintenance icon

  • Note: If you're viewing the Classic View of Control Panel, you won't see this link. Simply double-click on the Device Manager icon.

  • In the System and Maintenance window, click on the Device Manager link near the bottom of the window.

  • Click the Device Manager in the Task list
  • Look in the device list for a yellow circle with either a ! or a ? in it. It may be listed in Unknown Devices or in Universal Serial Bus Controllers.
  •  

    Let me know what you find please. Here's what the Device Manager looks like

    The device managers are unfortunately wonderful. I checked the mout numerous times. That is definately NOT the problem, although I wish it was. That would be too easy? Got any other ideas?

    Please try another USB port on your computer. If that doesn't help then the two last possibilities are the that there is either fault with the USB cable or the dongle isn't working properly. That's what happened with my Grandma's machine. I'm going to assume that there is no problem with the USB port on the Janome. As a sanity check you can try another computer as well.

    Relist: Inaccurate answer.
    Of course I tried switiching out the usb cables. The dongle works on my laptop, just not my vista desktop. Yes, it is a 32, not a 64. The answer I received did not get me anywhere else.
