No, I think this is the problem. Gmail is my main acct for getting and receiving email.

YES I CAN CLICK IT OPEN BUT CAN'T RECIEVE OR SEND ANYTHING FROM THIS PROGRAM.

MY SON CHANGED THINGS WHEN THEY INSTALLED THE SATTELITE, SO HE MAY HAVE CHANGED THINGS.

In Windows Mail > Click Tools menu > Click Accounts > Can you see your account listed there?

no there isn't.

 

we are in the pop gmail properties, advanced correct?

this gives server ports numbers,server time outs,sending, delivery.

NO THERE IS NO ITEM MENTIONED IN ANY OF THE TABS IN THE PROPERTIES.

It will be something like "outgoing server requires authentication", try finding it where the outgoing server is listed.

won't I lose you then?

why don't we start from the beginning by setting up email acct using microsofts mail system? Can't I incorporate my gmail through this?

Actually the SMTP port number is XXXXX I just confirmed. Change this and see if that works. If not, we will setup the account from scratch.

this is the error message I got before.

Change incoming port address to 993 and in both case(incoming and outgoing), check "This Server requires a secure connection"

I have tried to do this 3x and it fails. says it can not connect to server. i changed the gmail to imap as well.

 

I am not happy. This has taken a lot of time and still no answer.

yes. I have changed all kinds of setting and I am not sure my mail will work at all. This seems to be a bigger mess than what I started out with. When they ask for a forwarding addy for the gmail to go to windows. mail I have no addy so how can i foward it to this.

 

I go from pop in 1 acct to imap to the other it doesn't make any sense to me.I am very disappointed in this service.I do thank you for your time. I don't think you understood what the problem was from the beginning.

 

this whole thing started when my old server was terminated, and i was started on satelite broadband service. Everything worked up until then.

No open the question up. I am not an expert with the cpu, and the fault may lie with me, as I don't know what the hell I am doing. I need step by step instructions. I would have been willing to pay more for the problem had I know how long this would have taken.

But still no correction.
