I'm still having the same...
I'm still having the same problem. It's boring and tiresome to do a system restore. Whenever, I do a system restore, then it automatically updates firefox. Then I'm back to the same problem. I would like a solution that takes care of my situation once and for all.

Disable the automatic updating of Firefox:

Open Firefox >

Click Tools >

Click Options >

Click on Advanced in the top >

Click on Update tab >

Uncheck Firefox, Add-ons, Search Engines under Automatically check for updates to: >

Click OK.
