Hi,

Thanks for using Just Answer..

In windows start button -> in search box type cmd press enter you will get the command prompt..there you type these commands..

net stop spooler
del /Q /F /S "%systemroot%\System32\Spool\Printers\*.*"
net start spooler

Use one bye one

when i type the first command, i get: The print spooler service is not started

In cmd type services.msc ..

Search for printer spooler service make start and automatic..

went into services and started the spooler. back to command prompt and typed net stop spooler. I get system error 5 has occurred Access is denied.

Ok. I'm back. Restarted and having the same problem. Now I have no printers listed. Wen I try to add one I get the print spooler error message.

  1. In Services, right-click Print Spooler and then click Properties.
  2. Click the Dependencies tab. The first box lists all of the system services that must be running for Print Spooler to start. These are the dependencies.
  3. Make a note of each service, click OK and then start each service upon which Print Spooler is dependent, if the service is not already started. If a service was not started, right-click it, click Properties and then confirm that the Startup type is Automatic.
Try to add the printer ..let me know the error is coming ...

Bineesh - Tried this. There was a dependancy to the remote proceedure call service. Started that. Still no luck. No printers show up. When I try to add one, I get the spooler error message still. I believe the problem is that the file was damaged. I had another staff person working in my office and she was removing my usb printer cable and plugging hers in on a regular basis. I suspect this caused my machine to hang and have to be restarted. That's just my theory.
