Can I please pay someone...
Can I please pay someone to help me fix my Thunderbird? I have a few website accounts with HostGator. I set up Outlook to manage all my gmail, website email accounts only to find I hate it. I found Thunderbird this morning and have spent all morning try to fix it. I can get my gmail in Thunderbird. But none of my web emails.

And when I try to send I get a huge certificate warning. And it won't send. I have found LOTS of tutorials. Many show Thunderbird screens that are not how they are now. Same with the tutorials on HostGator, they were wrong too.

And I've received conflicting information what to [email protected], or name+domain.tld, [email protected] I don't know what is accurate or correct.

I deleted Outlook. I want to use Thunderbird. I set up outlook correctly but I didn't like it, I deleted it from my computer.

I want to use Mozilla's Thunderbird to get all emails.

Yes I understand.

 

The best method though to get the correct settings will be to reinstall outlook and set it up to your account so that it is working.

 

Then in outlook, do the following please

 

Click Tools, Account Settings

 

Click on your account, then change

 

Click More settings

 

Note down the settings in the below two windows that appear on your computer please

Now, use these settings when you are setting up Thunderbird.

 

When its working, you can then remove Outlook from your computer.

I just did all that, outlook does what it was doing over and over and over...... Asking me again and again for password.

I did get it to work once with one of my accounts but then it had started doing this thing where it was asking this over and over and over. No matter how many times I entered. Then I found on a Microsoft site where it said to set up your "user" etc. Then it didn't work at all.

So that was no benefit.

Here is the latest message when I send an email. I am tempted to pull the plug and try opera. It looks easier and has good reviews, nothing should be this complicated. I need a way to handle a lot of various emails in one place.

Here is another. This is outgoing. Just host had said the security setting was wrong, which I changed. Now instead of getting a huge security warning I get what you saw in the first photo.

Okay ..for Incoming mail, set the Connection Security to None, and for Outgoing mail, set the port number to 25, check the 'Use username and password' option, and fill in your username accordingly.

Save the changes; does it make any difference to your issue?

It didn't work still, here is the message when I tried to send. I don't think there is a way to get it to work.

Hmm ..now, could you tick the 'Use secure authentication' option in the outgoing settings, and try again?

Sorry you all. While I had been waiting last night I did some research and found Opera. I got everything set up in Opera in less than 15 minutes, and working!
