Hi- I have windows 7 -64 bit and when I open aol each day for the past week I get this message:cwindoid_2010.html from o.aolcdn.com can not be downloaded and to try again later, however I have never ask for this download but from what I see it may have to do with the aol search since it does not appear to be working.

This happens when clicking athe aol icon on desktop. the message pops up with a window tying to make an installation. to answer your question. I have internet explorer 8 I think anyway it is the most current. I also have 64 bit and windows 7 just installed a few weeks ago. delores

No I have not tried reinstalling aol. I do not know how to do that. I had windows 7 done for me and the IT person did it.

Download and install revo uninstaller: http://tinyurl.com/ydjdzrn

 

Use it to completely uninstall AOL. While uninstalling using Revo, be sure to delete all the registry keys when it prompts to.

 

Reinstall AOL latest version from here: http://daol.aol.com/software/95/

 

If that does not works, let me know.

I am sorry but I am 72 years old and afraid of messing with the registry when I do not know what I am doing. I just went thru a bad experience with another company had to reinstall windows and now have just installed windows 7 64 bit and am afraid of making a mistake and creating a big problem. I may need to get the IT person out to do what you suggest, and then I would have to end our session on that level. Please advise.

Yes sure, you can take the help for any tech guy, if you are not sure. But here, we are not dealing with registry directly, Revo will deal with it automatically, so minimal danger.
