hello,

thanks for asking your problem on justanswer.com

Please try to download the printer driver from this link

http://download.famouswhy.com/canon_pixma_ip2600_printer_driver/

When I try to download the driver from that website, it says URL Not Found.

No, installing the driver did not solve my problem. When I try to print something, the ink cartridges "slam" over to the left hand side. Error 5100 says that there is a blockage, but there is nothing blocking the ink cartridges as I can pull them easily by hand over to the right side.

ok, please try to maintain your printer as mentioned in this link

thanks

My printer is 1 week old. The cartridges are installed correctly and the printer was printing normally until the point I got this error. I don't know what caused the error to occur. I uninstalled and re-installed both cartridges already and that did not solve the problem.

Please unplug the printer from power and computer after that shut down the computer and after 2 minutes again plug in the printer and restart your computer.

thanks

That did not work =(

ok,

Most likely this is a print head issue. The print head is what the cartridges sit in inside of the printer. To attempt to resolve it, do the following:

(1) Open the printer
(2) Remove the ink cartridges from the print head.
(3) Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the cartridges
(6) Try to print something now

Thanks

None of these worked =(. I ended up just returning the printer to where I bought it from.
