Error 5100 means there is a carriage or paper jam. Please remove all the ink cartridges from the mahcine. Then clean the plastic strip attached to the back of the ink cartridge cradle. Clean the contacts on the cartridges as well as inside the cradle itself. Turn the machine off and remove all the paper from it. Then blow out the rollers with compressed air 3 or 4 times. Then turn the machine back on and wait for the insert cartridges message. Reinsert the ink cartridges and see if the problem is still there.

This cleaning did not work.

Unfortunately that means the print head has failed
In order to fix this the print head inside the printer needs to be replaced
The print head is the part of the printer that puts ink from the cartridges onto the page
Unfortunately this can sometimes cost more to replace then the machine itself
