Hi sailorcat,

Are you referring to the desktop icon that you click to access My computer?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I'm referring to the icon on the task bar that allows the user to jump to the desktop while another window is open. I think it is the by default, but it has disappeared from my PC.

Press Alt+Tab

(Can you switch between windows)?
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Yes...the problem is that with the desktop icon missing I have to reduce the window I'm current in in order to see the desktop. With the icon in the task bar, it's only a click to get there.

Ok.I get you,

Simply drag the My documents folder to your taskbar

That will do the job.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
I simply want to be able to click on the missing desktop icon in the task bar and be directed to the desktop. Will your solution do this?
Expert:  lifesaver replied 7 years ago.
yes man..

Drag either the My computer icon or the my documents icon to your taskbar.

Try it first.
Customer: replied 7 years ago.
That's not the solution. If I drag the My Computer desktop icon to the task bar I then have an immediate access to My Computer info, same comment for My Documents approach. All I want is to simply have the desktop icon in the tasjk bar so I can quickly access the Desktop page.
