You can try a system restore

  • Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Restore. System Restore starts.
  • On the Welcome to System Restore page, click Restore my computer to an earlier time (if it is not already selected), and then click Next.
  • On the Select a Restore Point page.Choose a proper restore point and restore.

    See if it helps..

The system restore did not bring my Outlook back to where it was. How do I get my old Outlook account (and all it's e-mails) back??

Can you tell me what did you do with your outlook account ?
    Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Actually, I can't remember exactly. I was trying to fix my send/receive cause i kept getting an error message, but then- somehow - I did something wrong that resulted in seemingly wiping out my whole account. When I tried to fix it, I also then must have created a new account so when I click on my icon, it opens to a new account - with no messages in my inbox... How do I restore my old Outlook. I don't even know how to set up the smtp and pop3...You see, someone had done this for me.

I will try to help you recover your old email account if you haven't deleted it.

IF not atleast i can help yousetup your email account with account.

    First open outlook.

    GO to tools .account settings.

    What do you find?

    Customer: replied 7 years ago.
When I go to tools, there is a drop down menu, but account settings is not one of the options. There's "Instant messaging, and "email accounts" which has a more extensive drop down...

    Please recheck.

By account settings i mean this.

    Customer: replied 7 years ago.
Please understand, I think this is an older version of Outlook, "Outlook 2002" I think. My drop down menu is different. My menu seems to have no "Account settings" option. There is an "E mail accounts" "Customize" and "options" all under tools...
